======

Alan Skyrme has been living in Brazil for many years and, for some of that time, has lived in the Amazonia Region which he now visits several times a year from his north-eastern Brazil base. He is passionate about the Amazon, about the people and the food. And he is passionate about Açaí. He knows more about this fruit than many locals - which means he knows what to photograph, when and how - and can even produce a decent glass of açaí juice ('wine") by traditional methods!

This site was established in response to increasing demand for Brazilian tropical fruit images in which Alan Skyrme Photography has specialised. Images of açaí (Euterpe oleracea) have been in significant demand recently due to the beneficial anti-oxidant effects of the fruit. The heart of the palm (palmito) is also a delicacy.

As a leading (if not the leading) supplier of açaí images, coupled with our focus on quality and commitment to building and maintaining customer relationships, we established this site to permit buyers to identify and select the type of image that suits their needs. We have thousands of images – this site shows only a few hundred – so if the images here are not quite what you are looking for, contact us, we probably have something that will match your needs, or we can produce to order! Quickly and inexpensively. We will update this site with new images on a regular basis to keep our acai fresh!

The images here are available for license on either a Royalty Free or Rights Managed basis. Neither license type necessarily offers exclucivity of use, but should you need exclusivity of an image we can license certain images on a Rights Managed basis. Where an image on this site has not yet been sold we can offer it as either Royalty Free or Rights Managed – but once sold we will fix the license appropriately.

While, during 2009, this site also featured a broad selection of other tropical fruit these have now moved to a new site: www.shootfroot.com which launched in January 2010.
